Tokyo began gubernatorial elections

Polling stations for voting in the election of the governor opened in the Japanese capital of Tokyo, NHK reports. From 07:00 local time (01:00 Moscow time), about 1.8 thousand polling stations opened. Voting will take place until 20:00 (14:00 Moscow time). In these elections, 22 candidates for governor of Tokyo participate. This is a record number of candidates for gubernatorial elections in the Japanese capital. Up to 11 million people can take part in the vote. It is noted that this year the elections are held with increased sanitary safety measures. In particular, voters will need to wear medical masks and observe social distance.
