The Taliban responded to the publication of the NYT about relations with Russia

Taliban, banned in Russia, has denied reports that Russian intelligence had paid the militants for attacks on American soldiers in Afghanistan. The official representative of the movement said that the Emirate did not need anybody to define their goals. He also suggested that these rumors are spread to prevent the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.
