Latvia intends to develop ground-based systems that ensure the operation of UAVs
Under the leadership of Latvian Mobilais Telefons JSC (Latvian Mobile Phone LMT), representatives of Latvian companies and scientific centers will take part in the development of ground modules that ensure the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was reported by the official portal of the Ministry of Defense of Latvia Sargs.lv. Ground systems that ensure the operation of drones should protect human lives from risks in difficult situations, as well as ensure the exchange of data between air drones, Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks told reporters of the portal. It is noted that this is the first project of the newly created European Defense Fund. Latvia believes that such international orders will help the development of the local technology industry. In addition to Latvia, representatives of Estonia, Finland, Belgium, France and Spain expressed a desire to participate in this project.
