Dodon's power in Moldova hangs on a thread: a new government or an election?

The parliamentary opposition in Moldova intends to resign the government of Ion Kika. According to the news agency, the Platform DA faction and the Pro Moldova group stated that there is a sufficient number of votes for this purpose, although formally 52 deputies remain in the Socialist and Democratic factions (a total of 101 deputies in the Parliament of Moldova). At the same time, further plans of the opposition differ. The leader of Platform DA Andrei Năstase wants to become the head of the new government and even already selects candidates of future ministers. We will name names when we are sure that there are 51 deputies who are ready to vote for the Magnitsky law, deoffshorization, decriminalization. Then we will know that there is a majority that can topple this government, as well as a majority that can vote for a new government, he added. The leader of the parliamentary group Pro Moldova Andrian Kandu in turn said that he is ready to vote for Nestase's candidature for the post of Prime Minister. We must be prepared to appoint a new government. We are open to proposals. I heard that Andrei Năstase wants to be prime minister. Without problems. We 'll vote for him. But what matters is what the government will be and what priorities it will have, Kandu said. At the same time, the leader of the right-wing opposition, the chairman of the Action and Solidarity party Maya Sandu said that she considers early parliamentary elections to be the best and only option in the current conditions. This parliament was elected by the rules of [oligarch] Vladimir Plahotniuc and does not represent the will of citizens. Early elections are needed to clean up parliament and clear the political class, Sandu said. She added that she is not going to negotiate with the socialists Igor Dodon, nor with the people of Plahotniuc. A year ago we ripped Dodon out of Plahotniuc's arms to rid the country of Plahotniuc. We do not want Plahotniuc to return, we want to rid the country of Dodon, as we did from Plahotniuc, she added. It should be noted that in order to appoint a new government, the votes of the deputies of the Shore faction of the fugitive oligarch Ilan Shore are also needed. Earlier, recall, the parliamentary majority of socialists and democrats left several groups of deputies, and as a result they have a minimum parliamentary majority, which can collapse at any moment.
