To serve the cause of socialism: as Brezhnev pacified Prague
May 6, 1970, the leaders of the Communist parties and the USSR Leonid Brezhnev and Gustav Husak signed an agreement On friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance. According to the document, the country undertook to give each other fraternal assistance and support, based on mutual respect of state sovereignty and independence. According to modern Czech researchers, this agreement after a period of liberalization was returned to the official Prague under total control of Moscow.
