Prime Minister of Georgia spoke about assistance to one of agro-industrial enterprises
On May 19, Georgian Prime Minister Georgy Gakharia visited Georgia s Natural agro-industrial enterprise located in the Kakheti region and told his management and employees about the assistance that the Government will provide to this and other similar enterprises within the framework of the anti-crisis program in the field of agriculture. This was reported by the press service of the Government of Georgia. According to the press service, this enterprise was financed by the Government earlier under the program of preferential agrocredites, and it is engaged in the production of vegetable and fruit preserves, juices, sauces and frozen fruits. The company employs 40 people, and the total amount of investments invested in it is 2,582,265 lari. The Prime Minister said that in addition to direct financial assistance from the Government, which for the agricultural sector will amount to 200 lari per 1 hectare of land, credit resources will be available to farmers and entrepreneurs of this sector to help them develop their production. It is likely that this enterprise will be among those lucky people who will receive assistance from the State, regardless of whether they need this financial support or not. The system of granting the promised anti-crisis assistance plan in Georgia is based on the process of pre-registration of applicants for such assistance. Since May 15, a special link has appeared on the website of the Ministry of Health for registration to receive assistance from the self-employed population, but this link works with great interruptions, it is very difficult to register on it until the end and it is possible not all. Calls to the telephone hotline of the Ministry of Health take a lot of time, as it takes half an hour to wait for an answer, and as a result the operator on all appeals about difficulties with registration advises to go directly to the Agency of Social Protection, to get in the queue and to register with the help of social workers. However, the registration process was extended by the Government until 1 July due to difficulties. It is likely that farmers will have to register for assistance, and whether all peasants will be able to do so, while in many villages access to the Internet is extremely limited or unavailable.
