Time will tell: acting Minister of Energy of Ukraine on the price of gas in winter

The price of gas for the population of Ukraine will now be formed exclusively by the market, and what time will tell with it. This was announced at a briefing on July 27 by acting Head of the Ministry of Energy Olga Buslavets, the correspondent of the news agency reports. You know that during the summer there is an unprecedented low price for gas, and what will happen to it will tell the time. This is a market price formation, said Buslavets. The official refrained from any forecasts regarding the price of gas in the coming autumn-winter season. Recall that in July 2020, the wholesale price of natural gas for the needs of the population, heat producers and other protected consumers in Ukraine increased by 16 kopecks to 2.30 UAH per cubic meter (excluding VAT, surcharge of gas revenues and gas transportation costs by main and distribution pipelines). Since the beginning of the year, the price of gas has decreased by 51%. the news agency notes that Ukraine's transition to fully market gas prices is one of the IMF's requirements.
