Germany and the Netherlands signed a contract for the construction of four frigates
The contract for the construction of four frigates of a new generation was signed with Germany by the Dutch company Damen. This was announced on June 20 by the press service of the company. According to the contract, Damen became the main contractor for the project for the supply of four frigates MKS-180 for the German Navy. The partners were Blohm + Voss, L rssen and Thales. The association of companies was announced by the winners of the tender for the construction of frigates, and on June 17 the Bundestag allocated the necessary financial resources. The signing of the contract marks the beginning of construction. Ships will be built in Hamburg, part of the work will be done at enterprises in a number of other cities, including Bremen, Kiel and Wolgast. About a hundred small and medium-sized companies from the marine industry, engineering and construction will be involved in the implementation of the project. Earlier, the news agency reported on the transfer to the US Navy of the first batch of two deeply modernized deck fighters F/A-18E/F Super Hornet modification Block III.
