UN warned about risks when people return to work

Jobs to which staff will return once restrictions are relaxed must meet safety and health criteria. Employers must assess risks in advance, the International Labour Organization (ILO) said in a statement. ILO called on various Governments to pay attention to preventing coronavirus infections in the workplace after the restrictions imposed by the pandemic had been relaxed. The statement of the organization is dedicated to the World Labour Protection Day, which is celebrated on April 28. If no action is taken, countries are at risk of a new outbreak of the virus and a second wave of contamination, the ILO warned. Special attention should be paid to labor protection in medical institutions, cleaning services, emergency services, retail food enterprises. Among the recommendations for employers are observance of physical distance, regular cleaning, reduction of interaction between employees and visitors the issue of protective means.
