Tencent and Huawei teamed up to develop cloud gaming service
Chinese companies Tencent and Huawei signed a memorandum on strategic cooperation in the field of cloud video games. This is reported by the cnTechPost. Companies from China will create a joint innovation laboratory to develop a cloud gaming platform GameMatrix. The cloud service will run on Huawei Kunpeng processors. The companies will also engage in joint research in the field of video game development using technologies of augmented and virtual reality and artificial intelligence. We remind that cloud gaming services are one of the types of cloud computing. With this technology, the compute load is transferred from user devices to remote servers. Such services include Google Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now and xCloud. As previously reported by the news agency, in March 2019 the holding Tencent concluded an agreement on cooperation in the field of video game development for mobile devices with the American company Razer.
