Warsaw requests documents from Gazprom on Northern Stream case - 2
Poland requested information and documents from Gazprom to investigate Northern Stream 2. A request was received from the Polish Competition and Consumer Protection Committee (UOKiK). On January 15, 2020 Gazprom received a notification from the Polish Competition Committee requesting information and documents for the investigation, according to RIA Novosti excerpts from the document. According to the news agency, the Polish antitrust regulator UOKiK fined the French company Engie, which is one of the investors of the Nord Stream 2 project, 172 million PLN (40.3 million) for the lack of cooperation in the case of the construction of the gas pipeline. As explained in the press service of the regulator, such a fine is imposed on the company for constant and unjustified refusal to send the requested documents.
